Worship is at the center of the life of First United Methodist Church. Each Sunday we come together from
toddlers to seniors...to lift our hearts in praise to our Lord and to find strength for life′s journey. Each week
uplifting music is provided by the Chancel Choir under the direction of Grace Trombley. Once a month the service
is also enhanced by the bell choir and occasionally by special music. The lay speakers and pastor offer
thoughtful prayers, an engaging children′s time, and a solid Biblical message to challenge and inspire.
Holy Communion is offered each week at the Sunday 8:30 A.M. service and monthly at the 10:00 service.
Special worship experiences provide an opportunity to emphasize important seasons of the Christian year. These
services are offered on Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Easter morning.
There are many ways to actively become involved in worship:
- Serving as an usher or greeter
- Serving as an acolyte (children 5 on up)
- Serving as a lay reader
- Giving a children′s sermon
- Provide flowers for the altar table
- Help decorate the sanctuary for the various seasons of the Church year
- Sing in the choir
- Play in the bell choir
- Play an instrument
- Help in the nursery during worship
- Prepare Communion
We invite everyone to join us as we experience the presence, power and love of God through worship.
